Character Relations Diagram ~ Chapter 1133
I experiment a little with the d2 diagram language. In the process I created a small One-Piece character relations diagram. It contains some factions, sub-factions and characters that may become relevant again as of chapter 1133. It is adjusted to current event and faction importance. For example it does not contain the 7 Warlords-Faction, because that one is no more 💀.
This diagram is very simple and in no ways complete. But it still hints at how organized and structured the hierarchies in the One Piece world are, even in its simplistic state. All Factions can be split into smaller and smaller sub-factions, with their own preferences, until you reach the atoms of these groups: The characters. Lets discuss factionts and their internal structure:
Some organizations in the One Piece world inherit from an abstract faction. For example most pirate crews have a captain and a navigator:
- Blackbeards crews navigator is Lafitte
- Luffys crews navigator is Nami
- Hairudins crews navigator is Road
- I wonder who Gol D Rogers navigator was? Do we know that yet?
I want to highlight internal fragmentation into subfactions, especially in the World Government, where some sub-factions have their own rivalries:
- Sword vs the Rest
- Admirals vs the 5 Elders. Akainu was not happy about Doflamingos faking his withdrawl from the 7 Warlords.
- Admirals vs Cipher Pol. Akainu ordered Lucci to not attack the strawhat pirates at egghead island. Lucci did so anyways. Cipher Pol overall seem way more involved with the underworld organizations, like the weapons trade with Wano. This may also be the reason they where invited to the Onigashima festival by Kaido.
- and then there is the internal policing and invesigating unit inside the Marines lead by that “Black-Horse” character, anyways he is not included in the diagram, like the Gods-Knights. We simply do not know enough about these yet (or I was to lazy to include them; Maybe another day 🙃)
here is the diagram:
As you can see the deal Luffy made with Loki is indicated by an arrow that goes right over the Giant warrior pirates rectangle in the diagram. This is pure coincidence, because this is how d2
chose to arrange the blocks based on the code. This is a funny coincidence though, since that deal literally went over the Giant Warriors head, I bet they would be angered if they found out Luffy made a deal with the “Shame of Elbaph”, Loki.
Here follows the d2 code that was used to create the diagram.

Many One-Piece youtubers have discussed the insane detail of the factions and hierarchy systems of One-Piece. I suggest the search term “One Piece organization structure analysis”. Mr. Morji explained how the hierarchy and tiering systems (for example Vice-Admiral to Admiral) make it easy to approximate powerscaling in the world.
Consider some of these organizations or structures that did not enter into the diagram:
- Baroque works
- Mads scientists
- Doflamingo-Kaido smiles alliance
- 7-Warlords system
- Reverie
- Kano-Kingdom
- Gods-Knights
there are countless others.
